Well, the group stage of the FIFA U-20 World Cup is complete.
A number of teams can be grateful that they made the last sixteen. Costa Rica were lucky and USA were not. More was expected of Nigeria but perhaps they will start peaking in the next round.
Spain continues it’s dominance in World Soccer and the match against Italy on 5 Oct should be a foregone conclusion with Spaniards being to good for the Azzurri.
It’s good to so the South African’s getting beyond a first round! Perhaps the future of soccer is not as bleak as the senior Bafana Bafana’s present form indicates.
Time to start thinking about the final!
There is little doubt that Spain will be there but their opponents are a bit harder to pick.
The Pharaoh’s are going to play their hearts out but unfortunately their advance will probably be halted at the semi-finals.
Brazil – Germany – how unfortunate that they will meet in the quarter-finals.
Brazil will have a point to make given the poor form of their senior team. So….
My prediction for the final is Spain vs. Brazil.
