This weekend sees FIFA events worldwide.
The U-20s sees the quarters with the big ones, I guess, being Germany – Brazil and Korea and Ghana. But the rest of the games should all be crackers since there are a number of underdogs with little to lose and willing to play their heart’s out.
It’s another 2010 qualifying weekend. Germany – Russia is a bit of an academical affair since on current form they will both qualify for a trip to South Africa next year. Maradona’s men shouldn’t be bothered by bottom of the group Peru but Argentina will want to score maximum points and hope that Uruguay beat Ecuador by one goal so that they can move into 4th spot and relieve a bit of the pressure.
Lets hope South African captain Aaron Mokoena won’t rue the absence of Pienaar in the international friendly with Norway on saturday due to his late tackle on his international team mate in the Portsmouth – Everton clash recently. Santana’s job may well be on the line should Bafana-Bafana not show an improvement in form.
