FA Cup Previews and Predictions Round 5

0,,10412~8529204,00Well i called the big upset of round 4 with Stoke knocking Arsenal out in tremendous fashion, even though a couple of bloggers disagreed,i did get a few results wrong though. I somehow think Stoke will not be able to beat City at home. Mancini is looking to bring home a trophy this season and show the Man city Board he means Business. Birmingham are looking good as well and i think they will also exceed expectations in the cup this year.

Chelsea Vs Cardiff

Chelsea have been struggling of late to pick up some good form, only winning one in there last three games. John Terry and Ashley Cole will not be on duty with Cole being injured for 3 months and Terry in Dubai to relax. With all of this in mind i think Chelsea still has what it takes to beat Cardiff and fly through the next round.

Prediction: Chelsea 2 – 0 Cardiff

Southampton Vs Portsmouth

Southampton have not lost in 6 games, Portsmouth have not paid their players in the last 6 games. On a more serious note Southampton are flying high, although Portsmouth are on a very low situation at the moment i think they will be able to salvage a draw here and take the fixture home to Fratton Park.

Prediction: Southampton 1 – 1 Portsmouth

Derby Vs Birmingham

The surprise outfit of the Premiership this season are still going at it. Birmingham have had one of their best 1st halves of a season since their English domination in the 50′s reaching the FA Cup final in 1956. Derby have also been the surprise outfit of the Championship this season but i take Birmingham to keep on  going and maybe equal or better 1956!

Prediction: Derby 0 – 2 Birmingham

Reading Vs West Brom

An all championship 5th round clash here, with both of these teams winning 5 out of their last 6 games. I think home advantage will play a pivotal role in todays game and therefore i say Reading will go forward, but not without West Brom giving a fight.

Prediction: Reading 2 – 1 Birmingham

Manchester City Vs Stoke

The first all premiership clash we will be looking at in this round. Manchester City have had mixed fortunes in the last couple of weeks. Although they are always proving that they are a side to beat at home. Stoke have been having an above average season lying comfortably above relegation. They struggle away from Home and i think they will struggle again today.

Prediction: Man City 2 – 0 Stoke

Bolton Vs Tottenham

The second and last all Premiership fixture of the week sees Bolton taking on Tottenham. Both of these teams have only won once in their last 4 outings. Bolton have players cuptied, while Tottenham only seem to be missing defender, Dawson. I think Tottenham will be able to see off Bolton today.

Prediction: Bolton 1 – 3 Tottenham

Fulham Vs Notts County

Fulham have the dogged tenacity to always pull through. Notts county have been performing well but with a recent loss to their name and Sven Goran Errikson leaving i think their moral will be down and you won’t be able to look for anything from Craven Cottage without a fight.

Prediction: Fulham 2 – 0 Notts County

Crystal Palace Vs Aston Villa

The Villians are looking their usual self  this season, unpredictable at times but you can never right them off.  As for todays fixture, Palace do not have enough ammunition to take this one and i think the Premiership team will push through yet again.

Prediction: Palace 0 – 3 Aston Villa
